GENERAL : Nicol has had an extraordinary junior career, culminating in winning the World Junior title in Antwerp in 1999 and retaining it on her home island of Penang in 2001. The smiling assassin can count these as the major jewels in a collection of international junior titles.

She has moved inexorably up the senior rankings to become a fixture in the top flight. For one so young the accoldaes keep coming, including being invited to carry the Olympic torch for Malaysia during the build up to the Athens Olympics in 2004 and being appointed a UN goodwill ambassador.
